When I was younger, music shows in MTV or music survival shows were very interesting but after how many seasons of -insert country name here- Idol or X-factors, it does get boring. Korea however have found new kinds of music shows that I find really interesting.
These shows aren't a survival show and while two of them have participants from the celebrity circles, one of them has participants from various type of people.
Let me introduce you to IMMORTAL SONG. This is a show where around 4 - 6 groups or solo singers compete with each other covering songs from a legendary singer/group. Every competition can go from 1 episode to 3 episodes. Watching singers making a cover of old songs while adding their own flavour are truly entertaining to watch. Here are some of my favourite performances :
- So Hyang - Arirang
I'm into this genre but this performance was heavenly it gave me goosebumps.
- Girls Day - All For You
I love their rendition and this is so fun to watch and sing along
- Seventeen - Tell Me
I'm putting this here cause not only are they my bias group but this performance was a solid.
Sandeul - Come Back To Me Again
As a solo singer , Sandeul isn't as popular as his bandmate Jinyoung but I love the tone of his voice,
Mamamoo - Delilah
mamamoo is a third generation girl group and so far I think has the best vocals between their peers, I can't say their english here is perfect but their voices are.
