Jefre Cantu-Ledesma is somewhat of a modern legend in the American ambient / post rock scene. He co founded the band Tarentel who's releases on the Temporary Residence label have a certain place in the upper echelons of the genre. Perhaps his larger contribution though, is the label Root Strata which he owns & operates. The vast, deep catalog is a something of a time capsule of early to mid aughts and beyond ambient music including releases from Pete Swanson, Oneohtrix Point Never, Golden Retiever, Sean McCann and many more.
Cantu-Ledesma's solo work is soaked in droning beauty. Looking skyward while being rooted in the natural world. This track "Pale Flower" is taken from his 2014 release "A Year With 13 Moons" on the Mexican Summer label.
