As I mentioned in the original post
with the first incarnation of this song, I was going to be changing things up/expanding on some ideas and this will be the 2nd of probably 3 or 4 updates as the song changes. I moved tracks around, as before things were just added in the order I did them, and the bass tracks were 3 tracks apart, so that helped me just to organize what was going on a bit better for my own sake. I also repeated the main portion of the track, so this version is a little less than 2x as long as the original.

First change I made was
in the drums in the intro, and during the break, when Tracks 2, 3, 4 and 5 all cut out (before coming back in). I cut out the hihat parts, so things feel a little more jagged. One of the kick tones has a lot of high-end in it, and actually sounds sort of hi-hat-esque, but without the backing 1/8th note rhythm, made for a really interesting change in the beat. Track 9, which fills in a bit of the gaps during measures 4 and 7, when all the other instruments are resting (except the bass). It's just a plucky, high-pitched synth that comes in playing some diads/chords to add a little bit of extra harmony. Check out the progression in the screenshot above.

I still want to break up
the repetition, as the bass essentially just repeats the same riff the whole time, so the next addition is going to be a Verse/Chorus (not sure if the current progression will be a Verse or a Chorus, depends on what I come up with). Maybe some pre-chorus/post-chorus sections too, just to help the parts connect and flow.
