Laterlus-Tool

Hello

Lateralus is a disc of one of my favorite bands: Tool.

It's a rock band from the United States. Unclassifiable, different, dark and depressive. At the same time, creative and dreamers.

Singer Maynard James Keenan has earned a reputation as a sour and sweet genius, talent inspired by his deep and elaborate lyrics.

The four members of Tool are disciples of a kind of religious order called Lachrymologist.

Let's start with the album:

The first song is titled Grudge and obviously, as it is from Tool, it can not have a meaning alone.
The Grudge is a song about personal development and maturity but it could also be an esoteric ode to the "Saturn transit".
The planet Saturn has an orbital period of 29.5 years, which returns to the astral position it occupied at the time of the birth of an individual to a degree that that individual is approaching 30 years. A significant and symbolic moment of life for many people.

The second song of the album is an instrumental song, called Eon Blue Apocalypse, which is a dedication of Adam Jones and his deceased Great Dane - Eon.

The third song is The patient. This song is written from the perspective of MJK's mother. It has been paralyzed since 1976. In this song we see her mother fighting not only herself, her illness and the way she loves.

The fourth song is mantra. The fundamental element of this song is the environmental noise in front of the slow sound of Maynard James Keenan that softly squeezes one of his cats.

The fifth song is the schism. According to the dictionary: division between sections or strongly opposed parts, caused by differences of opinion or belief. Describe the effect it can have on a relationship when the parties disagree and communications break down.

The sixth song is Parabol. It is lyrically very similar to "Parabola" and serves as a quieter opener to the heavier sound of "Parabola".

The seventh song is Parabola. A "parabola" is a U-shaped curve in a quadratic function. The parables form the basis of all modern major religions.

The eighth song is Tiks & Leeches. Slightly veiled denunciation to record executives and the music industry to take advantage of the effort and sacrifices of artists.

The ninth song is Lateralus. The predominant lyric theme is that over-analysis leads to loss of control.

The tenth song is Disposition. This song tries to let us know that the only thing that does not change is change.

The eleventh song is Reflection. This song is to quote the late Bill Hicks.

The twelfth song is Triad. A powerful mix of drums and guitar.

And finally, the last song on the album is Faaip de Oiad. The title means "Voice of God."
It is about when a person called to tell that he belonged to area 51.

And here the disc ends.
