Last week @behemoth18 posted an article that really is a rallying cry to fans of music everywhere, and it is a cry that needs to be echoed.
Think of all of your favorite bands. At one point in time, they were jamming in basements and piling onto a tiny stage to bring their sound to as many ear holes as possible. Then, they caught a break. Someone heard them and that someone had connections to get them out on the airwaves and on the road for more and more people to hear. So, why not use this Steem community to get some of our local musicians out into the world a bit more.
My first submission is a guy from my hometown.
Tom Evanchuck is a young guy in his 20s, but you would never know it hearing his voice. He has the husky sound that exemplifies the soul of a 60 year old blues man. He plays guitar with graceful ease and watching his fingers work a 6 string would make you think he was born with it in his hands. His more recent songwriting has begun to bring in elements of folksy, singer-songwriters, but his blues roots often shine through. On stage, he has a low-key charisma and he shares stories and dialogue with the crowds that always show up to see him play. Simple and delicate riffs and chord progressions combined with soulful lyrics create an emotional experience that keeps you going back to see him night after night.
You can find Tom on Spotify and can buy his albums on various online applications. If you live in NE Ohio (US), he can be found playing various venues on most nights (https://about.me/tomevanchuck).
