A Continued Obsession: The Sound of Silence - Cover by Disturbed with Harmony by Myles Kennedy

in music •  8 years ago  (edited)

I thought Disturbed's cover of The Sound of Silence couldn't get any better. Then I heard Myles Kennedy harmonize with him.

Myles Kennedy is from Alter Bridge, a band I'd never heard of before because I don't listen to rock. But man, can rockers cover amazing songs and harmonize, or what?

My obsession with Disturbed's cover has only grown stronger over the past few days. In fact, I purchased the sheet music so I can learn to play it on the piano:

I'm using my electric keyboard because my piano is so out of tune right now it's unconscionable.

My sheet music for Disturbed's arrangement of The Sound of Silence.

Excuse me while I go and listen to this version 100 more times now.

EDIT:
Here is the link to my first post I made when I first heard Disturbed's cover.

Omg ....the vocals, now I have too look them both up😳

Right?!? :)

I have a crush on Myles Kennedy's voice❤ I'm during a post on my favorite song so far...Show Me A Leader!

This isn't my recording, but I heard it live yesterday.

Holy wow, that last verse!

Love the backup vocals.

Thanks for sharing! You've just enabled my addiction :)

It sounded better in person, but it's pretty good on youtube too. That was "Blue in the Face," an a capella group from Penn State University. They said that the arrangement was based off of the version by Disturbed, so of course I thought of your last post right away. I only recorded the ones that they did with the high school kids, so I'm glad that someone put up the video.

Me too!
