Listening to music
Music moves people of all types, in a way that doesn’t seem to happen with other animals. Nobody really understands why listen to music which, unlike sex or food, has no intrinsic value. However, it still can trigger such profoundly rewarding experiences. Every known culture on the earth have had music. Music seems to be one of the basic actions of humans. How to listen to a song?
We like music because it makes us feel good. But why does it make us feel good?Science has shown that when children learn to play music, their brains begin to hear and process sounds that they couldn’t otherwise hear. This helps them develop “neurophysiologic distinction” between certain sounds that can aid in literacy, which can translate into improved academic results for kids. People listening to pleasurable music had activated brain regions called the ‘limbic’ and ‘paralimbic areas’, which are connected to euphoric reward responses, like those we experience from sex, good food, and addictive drugs.Einstein
Albert Einstein
Recognized as one of the smartest man who has ever lived. A little known fact about Einstein is that when he was young he did extremely poor in school. His school teachers told his parents to take him out of school because he was “too stupid to learn” and it would be a waste of resources for the school to invest time and energy in his education.
His mother did not think that Albert was “stupid”. Instead of following the school’s advice, Albert’s parents bought him a violin. Albert became good at the violin. Music was the key that helped Albert Einstein become one of the smartest men who has ever lived. Einstein himself says that the reason he was so smart is because he played the violin. He loved the music of Mozart and Bach the most. A friend of Einstein, G.J. With row, said that the way Einstein figured out his problems and equations was by improvising on the violin.
Many people listen to a particular series of Music, although they don’t understand even a single word. Was it because the sounds of human speech are thrilling? Not really. Speech sounds alone, don’t inspire. We don’t wake up to alarm clocks blaring speech. We don’t drive to work listening to native speakers, and then switch it to a political station during the commercials. Speech sounds don’t give us the chills, and they don’t make us cry.But music does emanate from our alarm clocks in the morning, and fill our cars, and give us chills, and make us cry.
I prefer “Would you like to listen to some music?” Using “listen to” is more active. When people listen to music, they are concentrating on the music. When people hear music, they merely note that music is being played somewhere. They might not even like the music they hear.
When one listens music, usually the music is played in the background while we do tasks such as work or household chores. The means we aren’t actively listening to the music. Music can be a great, healing relaxer to help us escape from the various stresses of life these days. To really enjoy good music of any genre and harness these relaxing effects, we must really listen to it.
Do not think of anything else. This is a time to listen, enjoy and relax. An experienced and accomplished musician might hear and feel a piece of music in a totally different way than a non-musician or beginner. But obviously no one’s experience is exactly the same.
A musical piece may be made by the use of various compositional techniques like repetition, Variation, Different Melodies, Varied Tempo.
Always listen to the song with complete attention and try grasping as many details as you can.
Listen again, narrowing your focus. Listen to every possible detail as you can and feel the beats and the rhythms that make you feel alive.
Notice all the details you previously could not by switching your attention from one to the other. Notice the kinds of changes that happen at your favourite moment. Does the melody give you Goosebumps? A new rhythm add pungency? Buzz suddenly crack into cool chills?
Develop your mental map of the characters, actors and energies that combine to create music.
Sit down and have a cup of coffee or a drink of choice while listening to your music.
Have some variety in your music. As we all know, listening to the same piece or song over time can eventually get boring. Expand your musical tastes with not only different pieces, but also different composers and even different genres.
Avoid confusing a music video with music. Try closing your eyes and imagine colours or try to picture the music with your current life setting for an appropriate situation. Use your emotional interpretation to intuit what the composer tried to express, try connecting with the composers reality.
Listen emotionally. That is, let your feelings and mood change as the sounds you hear change.
Use headphones if you’re with people who you don’t want to disturb, or at night. Just don’t use them when driving!
If you use headphones, make sure they’re good, quality headphones. Poor sound quality headphones make the music seem less than what it is.
