It's official: Kiefer is my favorite new artist of 2017. His combination of skilled jazz piano and Dilla-esque beats is just absolutely unbeatable. I'm definitely grabbing this record when it comes to Japan, but until then, I'll have to settle with this super-trippy, kaleidoscope of a music for his song, "Tubesocks". The song itself doesn't deviate from his sound too much but it's definitely on the slower end of the spectrum, making for maximum head-nod levels.
Kickingitalone is out right now on Stones Throw's sister label, Leaving Records or available at his Bandcamp. Either way, you should be picking this up without hesitation.
