I'll Never Be the Same - Camila Cabello - Deconstruct

in music •  7 years ago  (edited)

Anyone listening to this pop gem? When I first heard it I immediately hated it. Then three days when I couldnt get the chorus out of my head I realized that this is a real deal hit pop song.

From a musical standpoint - the verses are simple and almost growly and unappealing.. What makes this song a hit is what happens next - a "pre chorus" that every little kid who likes to sing will be trying to replicate. Camila has an extremely high register and displays that wonderfully in the prechorus before going to her much more singable head voice.

I'd like to hear a few guys playing this song.. the verses and chorus are pretty standard pop song - its that little prechorus where the song lives or dies.. hard for a guy to sing those notes!

The chords are C - G - Dm - F (over and over) in standard tuning.. If you are a male trying to sing this one you are probably going to need a capo!
