MUSIC: COMPOSING A REGGAE TRACK

I don't listen to much raggae, but I know how to fake making the sound. Here is the process I went through while making the background music for the latest Whaleshares Radio post.

Everything is about a slow pace. I cue up FruityLoops and set the bpm to 130. But the main action is around the third measure. The kick and the hat hit on that third measure like clock-work.

The keys accentuate the 2nd and the 4th measure, but they are light and almost in the background.

The bass focuses on the F and since this is an F minor tune, it just sits on that F. It walks away for a measure or two, but quickly returns.

Think of a traveler lodging his ass in the sand only to get up to grab a beer, and return to the sand chair he has made.

In the Whaleshares radio track I reverse the song at the beginning and end, but most of the beat is kept in tact.

Here is the final audio from the post.

I also don´t listen to much Reggae, but from what i know from Reggae this sounds more like a very clean intro for a cool chillout sound :P Btw i know and already worked with Fruityloops and i was wondering if i would find someone here in steemit producing cool sounds and here you are, i found you because of the designs, and now you also produce :D :D :D amazing .. i´m working with Cubase and Reason to produce some crazy experimental sounds... i have to put some tracks in soundcloud :) Btw, i love the bass line of Mazerunner, i don´t know if you know Trentemoller, but is what come to my mind when i hear your sound ;P minimalist
