When my good friend FreshEireMusic was organising the cover art, he enlisted a freelancer on the site Fiver.com. He told the guy my name was Willy G and the EP title was The G Man, but the freelancer mustve thought I was a pure OG from the states or something because he went and put a whole load of bling and a rolex and even a bullet on the cover!!
I mean damn, You know what shit id get from my underground MC friends if I released an EP with Bling and a Rolex on the cover? Never mind a fuckin bullet!!
But FreshEireMusic had already received the art and signed for it or whatever without seeing the bullet and all... so the only thing we could do was edit the shit out of it before release!!
Shout out to whoever designed this cover, cuz it is a dope ass cover art, but if I released it as is without any explanation I would look like a fake gangsta like some sort of vanilla ice type character. Its an honest mistake too since he hadnt heard my music or anything so its not his fault, its probably ours for not explaining the Gs.
If your wondering, the G in Willy G stands for my last name 'Gallagher', and people call me 'The G man' cuz of that.
I think its important to be true to yourself with hip hop, and imitating whats popular will sometimes work, but the essence of hip hop is truth so you gotta be true to who you are. The only bling I rock is a silver chain Ive had since I was 18 and I had a white gold ring but Ive set it in the shelf for when I lose some weight cuz I got so fat it was stuck to my finger from the Antipsychotic meds side effects Im on since I went Schizophrenic from Drug Induced Psychosis!
