Suicide is not conclusive, nor is the identity of this person, but it's likely him. The victim was found with a "band" around his neck.

Soundgarden was never my favorite band, but I had always recognized and appreciated Cornell's powerful vocal style.

Rest in peace, Mr. Cornell

Speechless. That's Kurt Cobain. Layne Staley. Scott Weiland. Chris Cornell. I hope Eddie Vedder is taking care of himself and is in good health

Yes. It's a shame, to be sure. Many an artist is to fair for this world.

What a loss. Fell on Black Days, The Day I Tried to Live are a couple of songs that come to mind. Say Hello to Heaven, Chris. RIP

Too young, man. 52 is too young.

It points to an alarming trend known as Deaths of Despair. Middle-aged non-Hispanic white men, aged 45-54, are dying at greater rates from suicide and drug/alcohol-related causes. Better to burn out than fade away? Is life that bad? The economy? Family? No family? Work? These are the things that come to mind. Or perhaps the expectations one puts on his life are, indeed, unrealistic. When they're not met, we erroneously believe all is lost.

And then there's the issue of drugs. The great escape. Elevating one's consciousness, or deadening it. They can create a vicious cycle. Mick Jagger famously said, "It's all right letting yourself go as long as you can get yourself back." But is the trip worth it?

Good stuff. The word needs to get out about the Deaths of Despair. Too many people are suffering needlessly. And thank you for the shout out, brother. Keep up the good work you're doing in the Steem Community.

I'm not sure why the tag didn't work. I didn't see anything in settings. Could be because you're not a follower? Not sure.

It's happened before. I don't know but it seems to have something to do with copy+paste I think.

Nothing reported in the news these days is as it seems. A lot of famous people dying off these days.....!!!! Nevertheless, Chris, RIP.

I hope there's nothing sinister about this. I don't think Cornell was really a cage-rattler, was he?

This is the closest I could find to being a Rusted Cage rattler: Chris Cornell Meets George Clooney, Trashes President Trump

This what I just found http://illuminatiwatcher.com/the-passing-of-chris-cornell-esoteric-and-illuminati-symbolism/. There seem to be common like with superstars deaths - drugs, suicide, depression.

Black Hole Sun - way too young seems all the alternative rock singers are almost all gone now.
