Dear Music-Lovers,

a few years ago I participated in an editing contest for editing a music-video of the song "Awaken Me" by a band called "Steel Standing".

Basically I just wanted to practise and improve my skills, so the result was far from being perfect. In a normal job, I'd call it a "draft version" and the client would have discussed the things he liked or disliked to work the way to the final version.

But in this case, I just had to define the point by myself, where I guessed it would be "good enough".

Here is a screenshot of the work in progress and as you can see, I had to deal with more than 20 different camera angles, that needed to be synced to the music.

The editing software I used was Avid Media Composer, still one of the most trusted professional nonlinear editing systems.

Although I did not win the contest, I received a honorable mention and got a software plugin for my editing suite as a reward.

Unfortunately the band split about half a year after the contest...
