I received an invite few days ago from a representative of a streaming application where musicians play live and interact with the audience. The live streaming service seems very structured meaning you dont see too many musicians streaming at the same time. They all schedule.
I have never seen more then 5-6 streaming at the same time. The audience seems decent with lowest numbers ive seen being around 100 viewers per stream which is awesome for me.
Their monetization is interesting and seems to work from what ive seen even though the app could use a facelift.
I was always aware of twitch but that site is so big that there would probably be no way for me to ever get attention there. Here, if people are picked by the app team and the play time is scheduled you get much more chance to get attention.
Its a bit scary but exciting at the same time since ive never done anything like it.
I bought my micro HDMI cabel yesterday and tomorrow i will test how well my camera can stream. I hope using my phone as a "hotspot" wont create issues for streaming. I dont have wifi connection where i usually record my videos.
I probably wont share my first livestreams here before i get the hang of it but probably will after some time. If by any chance ill have a 100 people listening every time i start streaming that would allow me to share things about steem, 3speak, Dtube, etc.
Hope i dont mess it up. :)
Good luck, sounds like pretty interesting lead for you!

Thx. I really hope it works out. Classical musicians need the money. :D

streaming is absolutely fun, I still miss doing it on dlive though they departed, I have the issue on youtube or twitch that id copyright detect my own songs :/ and but most importantly that my connection of late is not good enough to hold it. I've been pondering the idea to get back to it, as I enjoy it so much and I have my obs and all prepared for it, it's just my connection that fails now as my studio is now in an attic were I rely on plugs to the walls. Maybe next year

What happens if Youtube detects its not your song during the stream? Can they shut it down?
Maybe try buying internet on the phone and using that for connection. That worked for me when i tested.

the data on my phone are limited yes, I do not broadcast from phone though I have the obs through the pc, for the time being I'm stuck. It's been like half a year i don't do any even if i'm all set up since my Dlive experience. What I learned it's fun! so go for it!
About twitch I haven't tried it but I heard some nightmirish reports from fellow singers, I got whitelisted on ig and facebook to upload my music without the nonsensical self-tag but distributor has not done on youtube cos they say of course I can upload covers and such and it goes video by video, still it's pain because if you want to accept donations it's monetised if it's monetised it cannot have copyrighted content (an it detects even mine), I'd advice not try to monetize on youtube a stream unless all music is yours (and even if it's yours, you're whitelisted by the distributor) how painful. Next year I'm gonna insist more in having it get sorted out so if I cone come up with a LESS confusing reply or solution I'll let you know :) problem with youtube is that one strike (one single strike) can limit your channel six months demonetized and punished by algorithm. Everytime I upload a cover (even NOT MONETIZING) you kind of take the risk, for the longest time I uploaded NONE but cmon I enjoy making a few tributes that brings no harm and are just heartfelt tributes (non monetized of course) I don't mind the writers to place an ad on my video and get the revenue if song is theirs, I'm happy to, so I leave them open to the writer to claim and get their revenue. Still I uploaded an old cartoon one, all through a tribute, rearranged entirely by myself, saying thanks to the composer as it was so important as influence... boom , STRIKE six months of account limited and my youtube never NEVER recovered from it and me wondering why the hundreds of covers of the same song by hundreds of amateur fans are still really there :/ /maybe it's a compliment/. They make you watch videos about how piracy is bad... and honestly I felt HORRIBLE for having said thankyou for your inspiration... took me like five years of not making covers at all, and now I'm recording some for fun, and been sharing but my heart is hectic. Supposedly now they're looser and even allow revenue SHARING (split earnings) sometimes, BUT one that was eligible for revenue sharing by the composer then was reclaimed and risked it again... now it's I just monetize if music is all mine and that applies to livestreaming... but yet my music is NOT MINE according to youtube cos a distributor places it on itunes and spotify DAMN!!! so what are we to do? It's just painful!
