Into Somewhere, Jazz Etude

in music •  7 years ago  (edited)

I wrote a solo over the chord changes to the jazz standard "Out of Nowhere," displayed as "Into Somewhere" in Jerry Bergonzi's method book "Melodic Rhythms, Vol. 4." In this etude I tried to come up with phrases that created hemiola rhythms.

I transposed it into bass clef (Trombone, Euphonium, Bass), treble (piano), treble in Bb (Tenor Sax, Trumpet), and treble in Eb (Alto tax). Feel free to use any of these if you are interested in brushing up on your jazz!
