Man I used to use last.fm obsessively but haven't kept up... I need to find my account.

I found this one, but this isn't my main one... I had tens of thousands of scrobbles back in the day. IDK. https://www.last.fm/user/mattsokol

I've managed to keep it going all this time. I get annoyed when stuff doesn't scrobble

if I find my oldest one with the majority of the listens, I'll consider getting back into it... will let you know if that happens,

I've really never heard of last.fm @steevc, the first social media i used was back in 2004 with myspace and then i was on hi5 in 2005. But since i joined FB in 2007, i forgot i never went back on them!
And now that i am on steemit, i no more log into my FB acc!
Don't know what will happen next!

It's amazing how many services have come and gone. Some I used have been shut down, e.g. Orkut, Tsu, Google Buzz, Multiply. FB has really taken over now. Steemit is a real minnow in the social world

i've been on last fm for years. but my primary interest is the scrobbling and collecting data on my music. But scrobbling just is barely supported by any one else. when i switched from spotify to apple music i stopped using it. sigh

I've been able to find apps to do it for me all this time. I'd be surprised if it doesn't work on Apple

it may work thru itunes. But I tend to use the app

that i'm not sure, but have probably been ordering from amazon.com (sorry to admit) for nearly 20 years, and have had my hotmail email (also sorry to say I still use) for nearly as long.

I wouldn't count those as social media, although I guess some Amazon reviewers would treat it as a form of blog. My first webmail was in about 1997 on Rocketmail that got absorbed by Yahoo. I still have that account, but don't use it

Actually when I found out about last.fm, spotify was already inda house. I tried last.fm couple of times, but did not like it so much, so I switched straight away to spotify. To be honest no so much satisfied with spotify now too :)

I don't think it's designed to compete with Spotify really. I mainly like the stats

I've been scrobbling since 2010!

Cool. What's your user name there?

It's cocofloz.

Seems our musical compatibility is low :( You obviously listen to far more music than me each year. Music makes life better

O well, I've used SoundCloud, Spotify , indaba , but never last.FM, never even knew it existed.

Mr Steve, you sure have gone far and wide with social media platforms. .

I've been on Soundcloud for a while and used Spotify a bit. Music is a big part of my life, so I'm attracted to such sites

O yeah, Mr steevc, , I too , have discovered many sites connected to music.

I guess one goes deep when it comes to what he loves.

Last.fm? Never heard of it till now, basically its an older version of spotify?

Not exactly. I think it originally just logged what music you played that you owned, but they added other facilities along the way

I've never heard about last.fm, it seems to be interesting ^_^

I have an account with last fm. I used to use it to keep a log of all the gigs I'd been to, and you used to be able to look up the set lists for those gigs and reminisce !

I'm not too active over there though.

They let you link photos to gigs too. It had great potential to bring fans together. Shame it's not better known

Ah most of the gigs I went to were before the invention of camera phones..... so not many pics to be honest.
It's a nice idea though.

Me too. I do have some photos from old gigs such as Queen at Wembley, but they are not that great anyway. Even now I don't take many pictures at a gig. I just enjoy the experience.

Same. It never ceases to amaze me the people standing at gigs holding their phones up filming it, watching the whole live event on the screen of their phone!!
I want to say to them - Why?!? You may as well watch this on tv tomorrow. You're missing out on the whole thing.

And by the way, you'll probably never watch the video you're making right now.....: just saying.

Sounds like an interesting platform and 13 years is a long time you're a real veteran @steevc

my longest on fecabook is 5 years haha

I think I'm on Twitter and Tumblr since 2007.
The other social media I used are dead :)

Thirteen years is a lot. Congrats. About the same age as Facebook which was created in 2004.

wow that is really long time huge influence you have :)

I don't think it gives me any influence. I've just been playing with this stuff for a long time

seems like not heard of many things in social media

will try it though
