Red Hot Chili Peppers Live in St. Louis, MO 1986

in music •  7 years ago

In the early 1990s, I was working in a video duplication house. As I got to know my co-workers better, music always came up in conversation. It turns out that I was talking to the man that edited the concert here.

As far as I know, the original 3/4 inch tape is long destroyed, and I have the closest original generation copy on VHS. This is a transfer from 3/4 inch tape master, to VHS, to DVD, to Youtube. Considering all of the generation loss, it's still in fine shape. I hope you enjoy.

now thats pretty damn awesome. sweet

Yeah, I was pretty excited about it back then. It's cool to see Hillel in action before his untimely death.

These guys are on my bucket list of bands to see live. Big fan! Thanks for sharing!

I think you'll dig it. They don't play some of these older tracks much these days.

Love em. Good post.
Never heard these early recordings. Wow, he really couldn't sing. lol

I've seen them dozens of times. He's either on or really, really, off. It goes to show that sometimes all you need is luck and some charisma.

Love the peppers!

Incredible! I remember hitting shows like this back in the day... My dad would call it "wasted youth", but I wouldn't change a thing...

It's funny. I saw them the next time they came through St. Louis in that same venue, I was 16 or so and it was my first concert where I didn't have a parent or adult with me. I made it to the stage and experienced my first mosh pit on the first note they played. I was not prepared.

I can just imagine!
