The Parting Glass is a song that I've been singing at shows since for as long as I've been playing shows. It is the traditional farewell song of Fergus Plinko, and it's a song that I never get tired of singing.
This song is so old that nobody really knows how old it is, but it has existed in some form for at least 400 years.

This morning I felt like I needed to sing this song.
To all the comrades that e'er I've had...

Full Lyrics

Of all the money that e'er I spent
I spent it in good company
And of all the harm that e'er I've done
Alas, it was to none but me
And all I've done for want of wit
To memory now I can't recall
So fill to me the parting glass
Goodnight and joy be with you all

Of all the Comrades that e'er I've had
They are sorry for my going away
And all the sweethearts that e'er I've had
They would wish me one more day to stay
And since it falls unto my lot
That I should rise and you should not
I'll gently rise and softly call
Goodnight and joy be with you all

Beautiful:) Thanks for sharing, I really like Irish music and I think you did well singing this song!

Thanks! Irish music and magic are like shoes and socks.

Nice! Did you know they ran this song on the Walking Dead a few seasons back? Beth sang it. So I recognized it!

I don't watch the show, but I've seen the scene where she sings it. She has a great voice! It was also on the end credits of Assassin's Creed 4.

You have a Nice singing Voice. Cool old tune. I can see why you like it.

Thank you!

Nice music. Thanks for posting!

Thank you! It might be my favorite song to sing:)
