I'm a sucker for a good cover especially if it it makes the original more dance floor friendly. This 1984 Staple Singers take on "Slippery People" is a perfect example, tightening up the slack of the original by the Talking Heads. There's an urgent energy in the combination Mavis' vocals and the synthed out post disco groove that amplifies the vibe making it perfect for dancing.

I am a big fan of Talking Heads. But never heard the Staple Singers version before. Pretty cool that version, even though I prefer the downstripped remix:
