Here in South Africa we are inclined, now and again, to refer to Wednesday as 'hump day' ... meaning we are over the hump and its all down hill to the weekend. An appropriate song to start the day off is from a band I really enjoyed when I was young...... but listening to their stuff now I wonder what dope I was on !!
Lady Fantasy - Camel
Pleasant but pretty forgettable. So I did a search for songs with Wednesday in their title. Not many...one being performed b y Ray Conniff ...and there ain't a chance I am going to pollute my blog with his puke music. So I decided on the safe road and settled for a Simon & Garfunkel number.
Wednesday Morning 3 a.m. - Simon & Garfunkel
I can hear the soft breathing of the girl that I love she is soft, she is warm, but my heart remains heavy Lets get back to the hump day theme ... alas, alack I could not find a band named 'Humpback Whale' or 'The Humpbacks' .... so dear listener you will have to settle for another Camel .... although I suspect this is the flying type..
as she lies here beside me
asleep with the night
and her hair in a fine mist floats on my pillow
reflecting the glow of the winter moonlight
and I watch as her breasts, gently rise, gently fall
for I know with the first light of dawn I'll be leaving
and tonight will be all I have left to recall
