Once I heard that The Who's 'Young Man's Blues' was actually written by Mose Allison, then his name started to pop up everywhere. The Rock and Roll of the sixties was laced with Mose Allison, and I found out that I'd been a Mose fan longer than I knew.
Here's a good article where he talks about some of the covers of his music over the years, and some of his influences on his songwriting and lyrics. He was the very word 'cool', Mose knew how to say it, and when. http://jazztimes.com/articles/19434-mose-allison-cover-to-cover

If I said things were awful, it might just be unlawful."
-Mose Allison
