Just got back from seeing The Who live in Tahoe! - Video "515"

I just got back from seeing The Who live in Tahoe the last U.S. show of the tour and likely the last US show ever with both Roger Daltrey and Pete Townsend. Yes we have heard that before but I tend to believe them this time. However it is not too late to get tickets for Pete Townsend special Quadrophenia concert in LA Sept 16th. Ill be there!

Song "515" live Tahoe 8/16/17

Last night did not disappoint. It was beyond all expectations. As you can see we were in the cheap seats but it didn't matter it was an amazing show. They played for 2.5 hours no breaks. Pete Townsend made a joke that we were "paying to see 70 year olds play songs they wrote when they were children." It's true but for me being a MAJOR Who fan it was the best as I never got to see them live. And they allowed video! I have the entire show on my Gopro.

Zak Starkey, Ringo Starr's Son was channeling Keith Moon or something he was epic. A great fit. The horns you hear in "515" are real. They had a small orchestra semi hidden on the far right including strings.

They played everything I could have hoped for from their early hits like " I can't Explain" through "Quadrophenia" and "Pinball Wizard" including "Sparks". In the segway between "Zoot Suite" and "Love Reign on me" the keyboardist did a solo that featured some of Rick Wakeman of "Yes" another favorite of mine. The only song sorely missing for me was " The Kids are Alright"

The audience was lively for a bunch of 50-60 year olds ( like me) reliving our youth.

I was lucky to fly up from Santa Cruz with my sister and Brother in law. Now i am back home 24 hours later!

I have many Who anecdotes. I first saw them in '72 with Kieth Moon at Maple Leaf Gardens......Floated out of that one.
I gave up on them after the third farewell tour in and around '85....I can't talk about those anecdotes over the net! lol

welcome back, glad you had a blast!

That sounds absolutely epic.
I believe my first knowledge of 'opera' was Tommy.
