Went to see My Bloody Valentine last night at the Riviera in Chicago. Sold out show on Friday had us attend the Saturday performance. Never seen this band before but I heard stories about it being the loudest shit to ever experience.
They handed out earplugs at the door probably so that the venue would not be responsible for permanently damaging the patron's ears.
We got seats in the upper balcony and ordered some $8 Miller High Lifes while we listened to the opening band, The Ferrys... or did they say "the Ferrets" I'm still not sure. UPDATE: "Martha's Vinyard Ferries" is their name.
I dont have any footage of the crazy visual projections that went on during the show, but its pretty clear that instead of it just being an insane soundscape, it was very much more of a visual/audio immersive experience.
Here is some stuff i found on the internet.
