Music Monday (feel free to add your own music)

The aim is simple, to banish those Monday blues with an eclectic range of music chosen by Steemit friends both old and new.

Music Monday.jpg

Every Monday I intend to post a music video (and a few words explaining my choice) I invite you to join me by doing same in the comments section below. As the forum (hopefully) grows my aim is that we begin to inspire our fellow Steemians to broaden their musical horizons by listening to the music that inspires us. The only thing I ask is that (where possible) every song we listen to is played nice and loudly on headphones or speakers in order that we capture it’s true essence.

As more Steemians join this venture there is also going to be the possibility of being rewarded for our musical tastes via the amount of upvotes each song receives. That said please never feel awkward about posting a track, a guilty pleasure or even your own musical ventures. I have an extremely wide range of musical interests but also understand that music like beauty is very much in the eye of the beholder. As such I may play my chosen song, but who am I to define what constitutes good music.

I hope everyone is well and has enjoyed a really good weekend! First off Happy Christmas to steemit friends old and new! Keeping with the Christmas party vibe, I decided to go with an upbeat little number to keep those feet tapping, turn those frowns upside down and the dial turned up to ten. Loving the happy vibe and riffs on this track, but enough about me lets see what you think. I hope you enjoy!

This isn't about making me Steem so please save your upvotes and reward the songs that you feel are worthy, although equally if my song stands out to you then I'd appreciate the vote. Any resteems would be much appreciated, all are invited and welcomed to join us in sharing and listening to a diverse range of music.

Read the lyrics bro, it was written in the 1980's & I was playing it today.
I shall have to come back and upvote you tomorrow, as I have over extended voting for people, since I no longer vote for myself.

Hey my friend, thank you for sharing this timeless laid-back classic .. such a great track! I can certainly see where you are going with the lyrics. I just love the smoldering late night smokey jazz club feel of this song, it really draws you in. Thank you for the music my friend, another great choice and another listening pleasure. :)

Cheers my friend, merry xmas to you and your family.

Happy Christmas to you and yours :D

The Christmas song- Nat King Cole. I was checking the chord progression, jazz piano is something i wish i could master. Anyway Happy Christmas everyone! :)

Hey my friend,

Listening to this track is akin to wrapping yourself in a Christmas comfort blanket .. of its time and yet eternal and timeless. It really does capture the essence of a family Christmas, and although I've heard it many times I never grow tired of it. Thank you for the music my friend .. I really enjoyed this dose of Christmas cheer. Happy Christmas @hercdoukakis

Despite me actually liking these singers and the songs for various reasons, I must admit that my plan was to pick the first thing that popped up on YouTube. I should have guessed that this would have come up...

happy holidays, enjoy!

Hey my friend .. I got to Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, but I'll save the rest of the album for when the dinner is being made tomorrow. The archetypal Christmas album and you know it's not Christmas until you've heard at least a couple of these tracks lol Happy Christmas and thank you for the music @hrissm, this was a pleasure!

Tonight is a good night to listen to some Gospel & Soul.
Mike Farris & The Roseland Rhythm Revue

Hey my friend .. a great choice!! A nice leftfield slice of Gospel & Soul with some excellent bluesy guitars, perfect sound for Christmas there my friend and what a talented group of musicians! Thank you for the music @callisay .. I really enjoyed this one.

Actually Mike Farris won a Grammy Award for best Gospel album in 2015 and has an incredible band. The last album has a more powerful sound with some more blues and rock. One my alltime favorite singers.

I love it! Positive and fun with a great beat, which is just what we need at this dark time of year.
One of the best things about Christmas is the solstice – I love thinking that the days are going to get longer from now on. So this is one of my favourite "Christmas" records from Jethro Tull.
Merry Christmas!

Hey @natubat , A really cool leftfield choice with this one .. been a long time since I heard it. It's a great Christmas track .. hell it's a good track at any time of the year! Makes me wonder why they keep recycling the same old tracks when gems like this gather dust. Thank you for the music my friend .. forgotten how good this was :)

Nothing Christmassy from me....bah, humbug
Have some Midnight Oil. Despite the subject matter it's an upbeat foot tapper,

Excellent choice my friend .. it's been years since I heard this and it's a great track .. and that chorus! A powerful message delivered by a powerful protest song, that demands your attention. Thank you for the music my friend and thank you for this blast from the past .. I really enjoyed this one!

Pretty awesome song! Different vibes from it, I like it. Hard to classify the song which is what I also like about it.

One of my favorite Dean Martin songs! Reminds me of the time I was there with my wife, beautiful songs and harmonics.
Dean Martin- On an Evening in Roma

Thanks dude, glad you enjoyed it .. nice choice my friend and yes it perfectly captures the essence and feel of the visitor to the ancient city. Really nice song to kick back to and dream of summer holidays and how I need one now! lol Thank you for the music my friend .. another listening pleasure :)

Winter at the edge of the forest lived Winter in a hut.
She salted snow in a birch tub
She knocked yarn, she weaved canvases
Kovala ice and bridges over the rivers.

The ceiling is icy, the door creaking,
Behind a rough wall darkness is prickly.
As you step over the threshold - everywhere frost,
And from the windows of the parok blue-blue.

I went hunting, forged silver,
Planted thin month in a crystal bucket.
The trees of the fur coat sewed, twisted the toboggan path,
And afterwards, she hurried into the forest to rest in a hut.

The ceiling is icy, the door creaking,
Behind a rough wall darkness is prickly.
As you step over the threshold - everywhere frost,
And from the windows of the parok blue-blue.

Hey my friend, sorry for the late listen on this track but I missed it on the night and since I've had family over for Christmas :) The icy winter told in a way that only those living in the Siberian wilderness can properly understand. :) Nice uplifting cool sound to this one as well, enough for you to forget the cold and dream of warm taverns and dancing in the new year. :) Thank you for the music @rosgard .. I really enjoyed this one!

I am late again, my days are so full these days. Thank you for the music my friend I hope you are well and that you are having a great xmas xx
here is my offering, don't think I shared this already xxxx

Hey my friend, hope you're well and not too tired from all of your harvesting :) .. now I've moved I have to decide what to plant next year! I think you have previously shared the first track .. but it was a pleasure to listen to again! And I loved your second choice .. so beautifully simplistic and immediately gratifying, reminds me of nights spent around the camp fire with friends playing instruments and singing .. I love it!! Thank you for the music my friend .. I really enjoyed your choices this week!
