Most snakes lay eggs that need to hatch and the eggs hatch after roughly 60 days in general. There are however some snakes that give live birth to their young, and these can be split into two categories, namely viviparous (these don't have eggs) like boa constrictors and ovoviviparous (the eggs hatch inside the body) like some rattlesnakes. Most sea snakes are also known to give live birth. After the young snakes are born, there is no protection for them from the parents and their left to fend for themselves.
