Not really "blank" but it will make most steem front ends (Steemit, Busy, etc) "hide" your blog post/comment on their platform requiring some to click "SHOW" first before they can view the account's post/comment. Images used on the said post is also hidden.

ONLY accounts with Reputation of ZERO or below (-negative) are automatically hidden.

This actually is a good feature on Steem as it allows one to somehow gauge that accounts trustability without going to his/her blog posts.

All accounts start with a Reputation of 25 and increases if they get an upvote from other users and decreases if they get a downvote. Although it is worth to note that a downvote will only reduce one's reputation if the downvoter has a higher reputation than the downvotee.

The more low an accounts reputation is, the more likely they are a fraud/scammer/phisher/ spammer on the blockchain. Of course there are also a possibility that they anger someone with a big stake on the platform enough to be downvoted below to zero but in most cases reputation is a quick way to measure an accounts trustability on the blockchain and as a good security measure their posts must be hidden to the general public.

That was very specific, thanks. A couple of us had that question in our head.

Hey @broken-akay. After yesterdays discussion I decided to look up as well.

We all start at a reputation of 25 and the idea is to build it up and not go backwards. If you have a low reputation your comments and posts could be hidden. Accounts that spam or plagiarize will be very low on reputation and maybe in the negatives.

There are some exceptions though as one user recently had a fight or altercation with a whale and got flagged into negative reputation. He is actually a good account and is more the exception to the rule on reputation.

Thanks for asking the original question as I have learnt something now lol.

Yes If your reputation is below the red zone means below 0 then it can take your post to low hidden rating posts and comments. As there are many account who are taking their reputation to even -1 , -2 and many more. This happens when you are copying continuously some one posts and comments or you are doing misuse of Steemit platform and then the higher reputed account which better SP then you down-vote your account, This takes your account or reputation to below zero if continuous this things happens.

People who has less reputation may be a scammer and cheating with many other users in blockchain so this account goes to down-vote by other and with this their post and comments are automatically hidden by steem blockchain.

Your comments and posts can be blank if your reputation is 0 and below. It can also get hidden/blank if that post or comment is flagged to zero.

Users reputation start from 25 and increase as upvotes come in. A user with a low reputation means a lot of things. Either from a flagging due to disagreement or due to scamming activities.

The post are hidden to give a warning to other viewers.

Some forntends chose to hide comments made by users below a certain reputation threshold. While it doesn't make any difference on the blockchain itself, the two most popular frontends(busy and steemit) choose to hide posts made by users with less than 0 reputation under a button, so the reader would have to press a button in order to read it.
