Since you say except in terms of money, I think Musing is different from Quora in terms of it's decentralized nature. Due to the fact that musing has been incorporated into the blockchain economy, whatever contributions is made on musing remains on musing and cannot be wiped away by any one party.
This is unlike quora where it is owned by one person who calls the shots and can take down your contributions just because he or she does not feel comfortable with what you have written.
Also, musing is incorporated into the steem blockchain which helps you also build up your profile at the other end. It is a two way win situation for you as apart from rewards you get on musing, your followers, reputation, rankings and the number of posts on steemit also increase due to answers and questions you contribute to on the musing platform.
