The thing that's really interesting about this kind of hypocrisy is that they never even try to justify why one person doing X is acceptable and another is "chilling".
They can't, because there is no principle behind either perspective. Instead, the actual reason is always that the acceptable person is likely to support their tribe and the unacceptable one won't - or even simply, won't to the degree they want.
Obviously news outlets can't come out and say that they're utterly unconcerned with truth or a good faith representation of the world as it is... They can't tell you that they're hacks who just want their "team" to win regardless of whether or not they're being intellectually fair or consistent. Business Insider, especially, won't tell you that they have adopted an aggressively anti-capitalist stance and filter almost every story through that lens, so their editorial decisions are often predicated on making certain people look bad while whitewashing others as it suits the advancement of their larger goals.
If they admitted that they're simply party organs, they would not be "trustworthy"... But that's what they actually are, and you should not trust them.
