Ever since the Nintendo Wii, and how brutally we all bashed that name, only to be the ones destroyed by its success - I’ve been reluctant to opine on bad marketing decisions. Like what do I know?
…But holy shit. Wow. This is a bad bad bad marketing decision. What the fuck. In addition to X apparently sucking (the name and this so-called logo) - both the Twitter name and the Twitter logo are surely among the most spectacularly excellent names and logos respectively. The fact one can tweet and retweet just compounds the whole thing.
It’s like renaming Google (no, Alphabet didn’t rename Google). Who would do that? Come on. Come on!!!
