The Plenary Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) together with the government has agreed on the Draft Law (Bill) of the State Budget (APBN) 2018.
One of the substances set at the meeting is the Rupiah exchange rate of Rp 13,400 per USD. This exchange rate strengthened compared to R-APBN 2018 amounting to Rp 13,500 per USD. However, this figure is stagnant compared to the Revised State Budget (APBN-2017).
Head of Fiscal Policy Office of the Finance Ministry, Suahasil Nazara, said that the strengthening of the rupiah is influenced by the relatively good performance of the national economy. This is seen from the acceleration of infrastructure projects, the success of the tax amnesty program (Tax Amnesty), and the maintained level of inflation.
"Also positive is the balance of payments, controlled current account deficit, and strong foreign exchange reserves," Suahasil said in the Ministry of Finance, Jakarta, Wednesday (25/10).
