Marinate your tofu in a container and shake that bad boy around instead of using a zip lock bag. Haven't used Ziploc in so many years I don't remember when,
but I'm always sad that my tofu comes in packaging that most likely end up in the ocean just the same... Wish I lived somewhere that sold it in bulk without a container.
I completely agree! I wash my tofu packets and other plastic packaging and take them to the recycling bins at the shopping centres. Not sure if they actually do end up getting recycled,
but I used to just throw them in the bin because I didn't know that they could be recycled. The sad truth is...most plastics that we try to recycle do not actually end up getting recycled 😞
The plastic dilemma petrifies me. All I can think about is the movie Wall-E. That's literally where we're heading - a world of trash. It's scary.
just keep reducing and reusing and pushing for companies to use biodegradable materials instead by purchasing those types of items whenever they're available.
Of course I'll keep recycling but it is extremely disheartening to know it probably doesn't make a lot of difference...
but even so, at least you and I are doing something. It shits me when people say, "it doesn't even make a difference" and then just do nothing. Shitty attitude.
I assume the shitty plastic is cheaper, and profits are more important than the environment for the majority of people.
we are proudly ziplock free for years. We also don’t use paper towels and other disposal stuff. I’m tempted to get reusable TP even cause we already cloth diaper and as the woman in my house, I use the most TP to pat dry my naughty bits.
