Imagine your fridge telling you that your beer is reaching freezing point. Or your fridge informs you that the milk is finished and asks you if you would like it to order more low-fat milk this time. If you agree, your fridge will send information to your local supermarket. What follows is that the supermarket will debit your bank card and the delivery van will deliver milk at your doorstep. This sounds utopian but it is already happening in China, thanks to Xiaomi. Lee (2008) terms this OMO (online-merge-offline).
