Hello friends, I am Venezuelan, exactly from Zulia state, and today I come to give you a tour of my hometown, Ciudad Ojeda, Lagunillas municipality, the small city for many, it is the great city for me, it is a city of entrepreneurs, of people with great values, charismatic, always willing to help others, people of good heart, it is a welcoming place and warm to feel, for everyone who visits it, its people, its culture and its idiosyncrasies characterize it.
Campo mío is a small and humble town, but that does not mean we stop having a public assistance center, which is attended by the people of the neighborhood to consult the doctor and are treated with affection, where sometimes the doctor is the neighbor's son. graduated as a doctor now works there, with this I want to say that it is a small town where we all know each other, where we share our joys and sorrows.
We also have a school that I attended to attend my initial studies of the popular UEE "Pascual Ignacio Villasmil", I still remember those times when we arrived at school the teacher formed us in columns to sing the anthem of Venezuela, when playing the We used to go to recess to play with other children, there are many memories of my beautiful school, the scolding of the teachers because we messed up playing, the face of my mother's pride when receiving the ballot and congratulated her for my good grades , these and many more are moments that I will not forget.
We have a bakery and several supplies where we can buy our food and are served by their owners.
We are the eastern coast of Lake Maracaibo, its beaches, its China, its bagpipes and its bridge are our great pride, every day fishermen come out to explore those beautiful waters that give sustenance to their family. The bagpipes dedicated to our chinita virgin and to our lake are innumerable, the bagpipe and the hallaca are one of our many traditions.
Despite being so humble, we are a people rich in oil and all its minerals, which are extracted from our soil, to be processed in large industries.
We are the city with the largest mural in Latin America, this was built in 1962 is cylindrical, 42.5 meters high with a circumference of 50 meters, this work was the idea of the economist Edison Martinez, directed and designed by the great plastic artist Manuel Vargas and other collaborators, this work of pictorial art became in 1993 a symbol of the royal cultural tradition of our growing Lagunillas, which bears the name of the Great Mural of Ojeda or the Largest Mural, which forms important part of the city. It is the first work of urban art created in the state of Zulia, in which 200 shades of polyurethane paint of different colors and 800 gallons of paint of different shades were used, in the inner part of the tank a multipurpose room was created with capacity for 150 people and some offices which are inhabited by the staff of the cultural foundation of Ojeda 2000 who was responsible for its creation and now provides maintenance of the mural.
I do not have to show them big buildings, or luxurious warehouses, but if a city where people try to be better each day and value the effort of the other, we are that kind of people that strive every day to move forward our families working honestly , I thank the teachers of my school, the doctor of the ambulatory, the lady of the supply, the fishermen and all those people who with their work contribute a grain of sand to make my city the best city in the world
