My 2018: A Tour around my town: Coral na Munti, Agoncillo, Batangas...a place to come back with at the end of the day

This is my entry to a contest by @anomadsoul found in this https://steemit.com/my2018/@anomadsoul/contest-my-2018-a-tour-around-my-town-100-sbd-in-prizes

My hometown

I have read the post about this  4 hours it was posted however I did not submit my entry after I read it...I need to rediscover my hometown for a while and took some shots for a better post.

Aiming the prize why not? but sharing the place I spend most of my personal time is priceless afterall. I never win in a contest actually this is my second time to join @anomadsoul contest and my best prize is to feature my town.

Taal-Lemery-Agoncillo was one big town before..it split up to Lemery-Agoncillo. According to Wikipedia

April 17, 1949, Executive Order No. 212 was issued by President Quirino, lifting the suspension and thereby, authorizing the immediate organization of the Municipality under the name of Agoncillo,[7] in honor of Don Felipe Agoncillo, a native of Taal and one of the first Filipino representatives to the Spanish Cortes.

Agoncillo is 120 kms away from Manila (The National Capital Region of the Philippines) A two hour ride when you via the scenic view of Tagaytay. BUt it took 2-4 hours when you travel via the long route from towns to towns...however as of today with the Star Tollway it will take you 2-3 hoursd. The place is located north by San, Nicholas and separated by the Pansipit River from Lemery..Bridges connects places as people connects to places...since it is a part of Lemery before as for  industrialization...Agoncillo was left behind making all the native of Agoncillo flock in Lemery for jobs, going to groceries, malls and for education.

You can take a ride with a bus from Manila... we have two bus companies here for the transportation. But if you have a car better make it through Tagaytay and you can see the beauty of the Taal lake

The contest is

Make a post where you show us your hometown and the activities you can do there, the food, the people, the places, everything! You can make a video, post photos, make it a written post... whatever you want to use for the post is fine, no rules about the way to show us your hometown. The videos and photos must be yours, you can´t use photos from other websites. So... take us on a tour around your town!

However our municipality complete showcase what a man need. At least the basic are found within the community. We have a lot of public schools in the town both in elementary and high school. We have a private school for the college too.

To give you more insights about my town. I believe as what they are saying "a picture speaks a thousand  words".

So welcome to my town!!!

This signage shows where is the way going to Agoncillo

You have to go to the Lemery-Agoncillo-Talisay-Laurel road a four way  provincial road connecting it to Tagaytay City an Laguna. It's a good road though there are big trucks passing through this road making it dangerous for people on the road however such is a great part of industrialization. Investors are not burdened to go through a heavy traffic following the usual route.

If you are heading through this  road you will see the bondary of Lemery and Agoncillo...that starts our tour

After reaching the legndary Kulafu road. It was a tale that the road is enchanted. During drizzling night the mysterious begins when you are travelling and you did not blow your horn as a sign that you want to pass by...strange things will happen. Your car will stop or you will meet an accident. People from nearby towns are afraid of going here during night time...however I don't disagree but I never experience such things and I never wanted to experience the same. The road is characterized to be a zigzag one and steep...that maybe the cause while people met an accident there during drizzling night. However let the tale remain in the hearts of everyone who believes in.

TOURIST DESTINATION

This place and you want to feel what is the place all about. We have a lot of resorts along the coastal area of the town. with the Taal Volcano as main attraction. The lake is the best way for the adventure you wanted to have in this place. However for the records  I have included here the scenic place of The "Villa Jovita" and  "Ethan Garden" However Ethan Garden is located from the boundary of Agoncillo and Lemery..but I choose to include it in my blog because It is where people of Agoncillo chooses to hang-out. Both resort are along the high way that is why it is very accessible to everybody.

ETHAN GARDEN

This is Ethan Garden, the long slide is their main attraction...you can see this through the road and it is very attracting that everyone would love to step out of their car and go there to savor the place. The parking lot is good enough to cater all the needs of the customer...along with a friendly management will make your stay in the place one of the best.

This is part of their swimming pool. The water will sooth the tropical weather of our place and a back and forth to this wide pool can get back our mood set to further explore the place.

I will feature the resort in a separate blog soon with all the amenities around...I will take some pictures of it. I have expressly said this to the management of the resort and they are more than willing to help me go through.

VILLA JOVITA

This is the way going to Villa Jovita. The resort is located not to far from the provincial road you have take a ride if you want or you can just walk going there. There are tricycles waiting for  going to the place if you don't have brought a car with you...or a walk will not hurt much if you don't have a lot of stuff with you anyway to people there are sweet and you don't need to feel awkward as all of them are willing to help you. maybe approximately 300 meters away may do.

What makes them special and distinct with the resorts here in our place is THE WATER OF THEIR POOL  come from the spring and river located near the area. It is a combination of man-made pool and nature. You can see how they craft the pool showing a part of modernization and the beauty of nature embedded within the place.

You can feel the best time to laugh with the fresh cold natural water coming the river. Well the water in pool is flowing captivating the river current and goes down to flow following the big bodies of water along.

A scenic place to spend your day you, you can also go for a walk and savor the nature. There are a lot of attraction there..and some are currently in the making.

MUNICIPAL AMENITIES

This is the municipal hall of of the town. A simple building yet you can feel the people there are really pro public service. I have my personal encounter with the wife of the mayor there which is a lawyer and she renders her service to the people in need of legal counsel and notarizing documents which the citizen of Agoncillo may need...yes its free of charge. I went there to ask for my Affidavit of lose and she gave me free.

At the back of the place you can see the Commission on Election Building, A covered court for some public gatherings...private occasions may use it as well...the police headquarters.  The Market known as " Pamilihang Bayan" and some businesses within the area. It's a one stop shop for our needs and need not to travel form one place to another for Government services . Business establishment are also there . Just across the street is the College of Agoncillo. There are a lot more to say...but I knew the pictures can answer all what you want to know...

MARKET AND BUSINESS ENTITIES

This is the Municipal market...every people visit this place for their basic needs. it is where most business in the town are located.

We also have the night market at night time of course...selling some cooked food . Most of us..well including me result for this food during peak hours as we don't have time to cook anymore.

SECURITY

There are a lot of outpost within the town, some of it that I include is the main police headquarter and one from Sta. Cruz . The policeman here are very active with their responsibility to maintain peace and orderly. Sometimes it annoys me to have at least 1-3 checkpoints along the way before you reach the soon to be a city of Lemery where greatkid studies. You have to present them you car certificate of registration and driver's license to access the road...so better obey traffic rules and regulations when visit this place..

ROADS

This is how the provincial road look like. Its a four (4) way lane making the commuters easy to ride with street lights along the road. However for some parts , streetlights are still in process because the road widening project of the environment is still on going.

WATER AND ELECTRICITY

The municipality is equipped with water and electrical facilities. You don't need to worry much about the water supply because it is monitored and manage by private business entity which is the Primewater and the electricity by the BATELEC (Batangas Electric Corporation). BATELEC is one of the major source of electicity distributor  for the whole country. We sometimes experienced a power interruption and it is the best option for the whole country.

THE PEOPLE

People here are hard working and responsible. You cannot see people around talking with each other for nonsense things..you will always see them on the go.. Talking for some hearsays is not their cup of tea.

RELIGION AND BELIEFS

As many places in the Philippines, most are believers of the Catholic Faith influenced by the Spanish Regime here in our country and some are protestants like Born Again Christian and Breath of Life...there are others religion in the community. This is the small chapel in the community for the Catholic

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation is very important in a community. We have public and private vehicles here in our country, these are the following to name some

  • Jeepneys: this is the means from the city to the kulafu place. The one in colorful one
  • tricycle : this is the motorycle with side wheels
  • motorcycle: this is for private only it is a two wheeled vehicle
  • cars/suv: this is also for private people

PRODUCTS

Coconut is the main product of the town..Actually this is the main work of the people here. They would harvest coconut and sell it. Its a matter of buy and sell or trading. There are fish cagess  on the lake raising different kind of fish especially the Tilapia.

Some would raise farm animals like chicken, pig and carabao for their living.

MY PLACE...MY SANCTUARY

At the end of the day...after all the activities we have at some places, the place we wanted to go is our home and I am not an exemption.I always love to go home, greatkid went to Lemery for his education and because he is still a child I would wait for him to go home. Our place is 8m ks. away gong home after sending him to school is the craziest idea because it took us to reach our place after 30 minutes to 1 hour... it's an hour back and forth. It's a waist of time and effort as well as gasoline so I need to wait for him.

Welcome to!!!!

CORAL NA MUNTI. AGONCILLO

This is my place...after Kulafu road, a right turn you can see this signage.

If you are living a  simple life...Coral Na Munti is fitted for you...though we are hard up with transportation because our house is somewhat 3 kms away from the main road however if you don't have your own car or vehicle take the  tricycles(three-wheeled motorcycles) for a ride and you need to pay around 25php.

This is the terminal of tricycles..

As to basic needs from the entrance alone you can see some mini grocery to buy needs. We don't need to go too far for another 3 kms. going to the town proper to buy our needs

We also have the "Talipapa" or the vendors selling vegetables, fishes, or cooked food within the place

We have concrete roads making it easier for us to travel. Even the narrowest road in the community comes with cements that made the place special for me.

We also have schools here in our place. Elementary and High school schools to cater for the educational needs of the community.

We have clean and water supply here actually we have two pumping station here in our place..When we are looking for a clean water to drink we have the refilling station located here in our barangay.

As to economic life of the people..the majority of the people are living an average life with good houses, having their own for most of the people if not all depicts their status.

Houses are built seems in a hilltop..yes Agoncillo is a highland that is why the climate here is very fair...It bever goes too hot unlike in Lemery. This is the best thing I want it here. My migraine never attacks since we transferred here 6 years ago.

This is an apartment. This shows that Coral Na Munti is a good place to live and to invest with.

We have also electrical facilities here...a cable for the television and an internet provider.

If you live a simple life...you don't need to go to far to this place as it provides everything that we need, If you don't have tons money for a luxury life or just a money for an average lifestyle..you will survive here, you can tilt the soil and plant some vegetables, raise a cob or anything for meat and you can earn a living here like the coconut business most of the folks here do...

If you have the money and want some great time somewhere you don't need to go to far... somehow a few kilometers you may have restaurants like the picture above other good restaurants too are found in the place like the Max's fried chicken and the Hap Chan... for some great food and a convenience store is in the place too

What I hate most are the stray dogs in the Streets...which I don't know what the owner a prize he gets of letting the dogs wander around threatening people to pass through the place...especially at night time.

This is my fair rediscovery of my hometown and my place within....

Yes... I realized that the best lesson learned from wandering around and exploring the world...

....is....

COMING BACK TO OUR HOME !!!

Our home remain our sanctuary!

Photos are all mine except for the destinations
