Porn on Steemit - My Updated View

in mybad •  8 years ago

I edited my previous post to reflect this, but I also wanted to make sure that I clarify my updated view with a new post.

I didn't understand that NSFW content that was tagged NSFW would be separated from all the feeds.  @tombstone pointed this out to me, and I am very thankful for that, as it is completely my fault for not understanding this further before making a post.  I was concerned about legal implications and how it could be a turn-off to new users to find NSFW work content mixed in whatever feed they were exploring.  I feel these concerns were justified, but I should have done more legwork on my end, as it's clear now that this is something that has already been discussed and addressed by the team and other users on the site.  I should have known this before posting, and I apologize.

I will, however, continue to flag NSFW content that is not properly tagged as I view it still to be a net negative to Steemit.  I am posting all of this to remain as transparent as possible, and to open up conversations to ensure I am voting in the best ways possible for Steemit.

I also want to clarify that I have nothing against pornographic materials or the various workers in the space.  I support @sean-king's views on this topic, (as well as his followup) which I highly recommend checking out.

lol what? Is cheetah broken? A ref link to a gambling site...dafuq?

Would appear we have a problem lol who would have thought paid advertising would have come in the form of bot posts . lol

Yeah... seems so.. if you sign into steemit.chat the channel to join #steemitabuse-classic the person you want to talk to is @anyx - they are the creator of @cheetah

I posted something about this in the channel.

I think it tries to take sections of text and compare them to sections of text out on the web. Was anything you written similar to something someone else wrote at that site?

LOL - kind of funny actually

This is really funny. I clicked it to see, but then closed when I saw it was a gambling site. I don't even know if it's a legitimate site, but all I saw were ads for various games. I guess flagging porn posts on Steemit is a new slots game XD
