CALLA LILIES - REVISITED

Here is today's #selectivecolor theme for #mydailypost sponsored by @sol125 and @leyargoz

Calla Lilies are a flowering genus of approximately 28 species which originate in Africa. They thrive in marshy areas and are grown from bulbs, known as tubers. The word 'Calla' is derived from the Greek language meaning, "Beautiful.' They also signify, "Magnificence.'

Their characteristics are quite unique with their long-petioled basal leaves which grow from thick rhizomes. The flower itself, is large and flares outward into a trumpet-shaped bract. The green leaves are shaped like arrowheads and often have white or silver speckles on them.

These Calla Lilies have received a digital makeover, turning their green leaves purple and creating a unique and contemporary appearance.
