Tried and Tested: Egg Steamer from ShopeesteemCreated with Sketch.

Hi Stemians,
Today I have the opportunity to try a newly arrived product ordered from online purchase, a product from China, to see whether it will help me ease my time (and safer) to make my breakfast or lunch.

I have been noticing this product for a while now, and have been wanting to try it, but since this is a new product with a square cover, which gives more steaming space than the usual round covers, AND it has a double deck feature; I have decided to give it a go.

(Plus, I had my birthday voucher to spend)

The dealer was quick to send it to me (arrived in 3 working days from another State), which my guess is he/she had ready stock from China; and it came with an extra metal bowl, a measurement cup, and even an egg yolk split filter (something I wanted to get but kept forgetting it)

Now the key to make a successful hard / soft / barely boiled egg lies on the cup. If you missed the cup you might get a very different outcome. Over here it has mentioned 3 stages for us to decide what kind of an egg we want.

So since I didn't have time to head out for lunch today, I have decided to use the last 2 available raw eggs kept in in the office.

I used the exact measurement to ensure the test is successful.

It's really neat that the supplier provided 2 ready made egg racks for a maximum outcome. I will probably try that in the future. (during Christmas time)

All set to be tested! (for a single rack)

To steam for a hard boiled egg it takes about 9 minutes to complete (if your measurement is correct)

And true enough, as per product description: It has a fail safe mechanism that it will automatically cut off the power once the water is fully dried up. To safe energy and to prevent over cooking.

According to my boss, a proper hard boil egg is a solid yolk without the "greys" at the side. Once the yolk forms a grey layer outside, it is considered overcooked.

So this product made it just right!

In conclusion. I am pretty satisfied with the fact that it worked well with both eggs (same result). The whites were not too hard and this is great to consume just as it is (not too dry).

A worth while product to be invested for easy, healthy cooking under 10 minutes.

I might try other measurements on other items later.

Currently selling price is 5.18 Steem Dollars; free shipping in West Malaysia.

cool steamer can be use in a small canteen

Yep! That's the whole idea @foxlobo31 . It is relatively safe. And if there's a dorm of kids who wants a healthy hard boil egg, this product provides 1 dozen of hard boiled eggs in steam under 10 minutes!
Oh another thing is that it is well advised not to use chlorine treated water to steam food, so I used a properly filtered water.
Malaysia's water are all chlorinated and needs to be either filtered / boiled.
Thanks so much for your vote and your visit!
