Colorado Mule Deer in Velvet

in myhuntingfishing •  7 years ago

Having the Koi pond has other benefits. In this dry area, it also attracts local deer, turkey, and other animals.
I shot this picture of Mule Deer in Velvet, still just growing his antlers in mid-June. Looks like he will be a nice 4x4 or maybe even 6x6 when he fills out completely.
This was about 30 yards off of our back deck.

It amazing picture

Thanks @rikiikie I love being close enough to take shots like this without disturbing them. He looked up a bit, then went back to nibbling on the grass and flowers. Hung out in the area for several hours.
