My Sweet Potato Dream 2018: Week 5

IMG_2221.PNG

Welcome to Week 5 of mysweetpotatodream2018 update post. Thanks to all who follow along and upvote me.

In Week 5 the slips are continuing to grow strong. The tallest slips are around 7-8 inches tall now. Once they get to about 12 inches I'll start to remove them and set them into some water to development their own root system.

Though this was really cool looking. The root system of the host sweet potato, reminds me of one of those photos of a lighting strikes.

The two slips I had rescued from the rotten sweet potato, have not progressed much. I'm going to try some things and see if there is any improvement by next week.

That's about it for now. Just keep rolling on through until we hit the garden. Thanks again for stopping by, any questions or comments are welcome.

First year also trying to grow some, although credit goes to my dad for taking the rooted sprout I grew and turning it into that.

Cool! They are looking good too.

This is actually my second year. Only this time, I'm bringing the steemit community along for the journey. 😀

Last year.

Cool!
Last few years I have kept wanting to do a online gardening celebration, but I ended up abandoning FB when the censorship got too bad and the views were so low it became pointless.
(I don't have a very big network like some of you all have grown to have)

But maybe we can get it going here this year?

This is my first year finally getting to homestead ♡
So excited as I've been studying and practicing my gardening in containers the past 5 years.

As always, it is a real pleasure to read and follow it ,,,,
