Hello everyone! Yesterday, my father and I walked around our home town to get some pictures for this challenge. West Chester is a beautiful town, and I look forward to sharing about it here!
1. Samuel Barber's Childhood Home
| X95W+57 West Chester, PA, USA | ///instructed.manages.decades |
Samuel Barber actually grew up in West Chester. He was in the Curtis Institute of Music's first graduating class, and went on to become one of the most celebrated composers of the 20th century.
2. Bethlehem United Methodist Church
| WF47+J5 Glen Mills, PA, USA | ///ruthlessly.sharpens.standard |
I took this selfie at my church because I realized I'd forgotten to take a picture with a sign with my username. I currently play the piano for the traditional service, and am also involved in several church groups.
3. West Chester's Old Court House
| X95V+XV West Chester, PA, USA | ///squeeze.charts.witness |
This courthouse was built in the 1800s, and is now a historic courthouse. It's architect also designed the dome of the United States capitol. West Chester's courthouse was famous due to the court case Freethought Society v. Chester County in which the county's decision to display the 10 commandments was challenged.
4. Bitcoin ATM in Cookie Dope
| X95W+JC West Chester, PA, USA | ///bitter.requested.projection |
I learned about year ago that a cookie dough shop in West Chester called Cookie Dope has a bitcoin ATM. Yesterday, @remlaps and I visited it for the first time to take a picture. It was both of our first experience seeing a bitcoin ATM. Maybe someday we will be able to walk in to photograph a Steem or Tron ATM :)
5. West Chester Railroad
| X96X+CR West Chester, PA, USA | ///voter.tolerance.packet |
West Chester actually has a functioning railroad. The railroad is used for fun community events on special occasions such as Halloween and Christmas. I remember going to the railroad with my family at Christmas time to take a ride on the train and meet Santa. Yesterday they were running Halloween themed train rides.
6. Frederick Douglass Statue at West Chester University
| XC32+8J West Chester, PA, USA | ///recitals.vampire.defects |
There is a statue of Frederick Douglass by Phillips Hall in West Chester University. Douglass was a prominent figure in the abolitionist movement, and actually gave his final public lecture at West Chester University on February 1st, 1895.
7. Outdoor Dining In West Chester
|X95V+XH West Chester, PA, USA | ///rubble.beauty.knocked |
Yesterday, @remlaps and I actually saw that Gay street has been closed for outdoor dining. We thought the picture would look really cool with the fall leaves on the trees. Here's a picture of West Chester's outdoor dining area.
8. Henderson High School
| XC82+7R West Chester, PA, USA | ///blend.leaner.plunge |
This is the oldest high school in the West Chester Area School District. Formerly known as West Chester High School, it has existed since the 1800s, and has had several prominent figures go through it (such as Bayard Rustin and Samuel Barber).
9. Taylor's Music Store
| X95V+R8 West Chester, PA, USA | ///corrections.freeing.braked |
Taylor's is one of the more prominent music stores in the West Chester area. It sells a large variety of instruments including pianos, guitars, and wind and string instruments. Our piano actually comes from Taylor's music store. The outside of the store is pretty cool, so I decided to include it.
10. The Garden of Honor
| XC72+FC West Chester, PA, USA | ///graph.parcels.spray |
@remlaps discovered this when he was watching a parade in West Chester about a year ago. We decided to visit it again yesterday, and get a picture for this article. The garden is a monument to those who have served in any of the 5 branches of military.
Conclusion
Thanks for reading this! This was a really cool challenge, and it was fun to walk around West Chester with @remlaps for the first time in a while. Hopefully I will see you in future articles!

I have several questions: do compositions/poems count for the craft category? Do you guys intend to start Music for Steem up again?
