Ok, Ok, what the heck is happening here?

My vote is giving .01usd on a new post.

I only have 1500sp.

Other people with comparable sp are not giving .01usd.

I got a vote from @berniesanders  that registered lower than me in the vote list.

I thought those were based on sp.

More sp, higher on the list.

But when I went to see what was up with Bernie he has 17 times more sp than me.

Soooo, if you can tell my why my math is acting like somebody has 'shared' some sp with me, that would be nice.

//edit//

Now my account value is out of whack, too.

I should be over 300usd, but I am not.

Thank you for your time,.....

Have a perfectly peaceful day.

All i know i that..my votes are worth more than they used to be and am liking it!!

I'm with you, but I don't like things done in the dark, either have the backbone to stand up for your actions or don't do them.
I think we have an experiment going and we haven't been informed.

They usually tell us when it's finished..

We can hope,....or will it be steemk ultra??

Probably..whatever that is?

MKultra was a cia operation that included, among other things, dosing each other with lsd.
Unsuspecting people were used in experiments because if they had known of the experiments it would have skewed the results.

If people vote with less than 100% SP, the reward increase they offer is proportionately lower. Additionally, if they have voted a lot, their vote weight is lower. I have about 3700 SP, but I hav eupvoted so much over the past week that my vote power is only 54%. meaning I probably only offer about the same upvote pay boost you do.

Yes, I get that, my vote is overpowered for my sp, and my account value is undervalued.
The math is out of whack and nobody has answered with a plausible answer, yet.

The price displayed on STEEMIT is using a moving average over 7 days I think. Not the current market price.

yeah, but that doesn't explain why some kollolove's account reflects the current price and mine doesn't.
It is catching up, but that doesn't change the past, even when it is down the memory hole.

Your vote isn't overpowered. It is that the the whales are not voting (or voting with smaller percentages), so you get to decide the allocation of the rewards, rather than them.

Power to the minnows to decide what gets rewarded. The wisdom of the crowd.

Ok, that could be.
Why is my account balance wrong?

  ·  8 years ago (edited)

They might be replaying the blockchain. Is your STEEM wrong? Or your dollars wrong?

No, just the account value balance.
The price has nearly tripled while my account balance is only up ~2x.

The price of STEEM tripled recently. So your STEEM was worth more. Did you miss the news?

Lol, when the price triples, more or less, and my account balance doesn't even double, something is happening in the math.

Depends on what vote power you are using for your votes. If you set the vote slider bar at less than 100% then you don't vote with your full sp power.

I have toooo much power, out of whack for my sp balance.
My account value is whack, too.

Account value is based a weeks average though so could be down to that, also vote power is also determined with how much you vote, each vote drains your vote power.

Well, I would accept that, except that I look at other accounts and their math correctly reflects the run up in price.
I have 3x the sp of kzollove but his account balance and mine are not a 3x multiple, I only have 2x his account value.

not sure how value is worked out. i tend to ignore the value on here and check it on steemwhales.com.

Which reflects a more accurate number,...for me.

nice post friend

Tyvm!!

Good q, I'm also confused about how this works out. Maybe it is connected to the new slider bar that allows you to choose the percentage of upvote to give?

Nah, I've had that for months, you get it at 500sp.
Something is going on behind the scenes in the math.

Haha, glad to have learned this about the slider bar. I'd be very interested to find out how it is decided then.

It appears that another experiment is going on, albeit one that benefits me, and you.

The slider bar isn't new, you just don't get it until after you've reached over 1000sp :)

I guess I just revealed my Steemit-Age lol

Yup, haha, I remember when I first got the slider ;)

I thought I got mine at 500sp because I was crying about having to have 500 sp to powerdown, 10x the current signup fee, when I had started with 3sp and thought it unfair that the rules had changed and that I couldn't power down when I had been told that I could.

@timcliff gave me 100sp to shut me up, it worked,....thanks Tim!!

It's most likely because bernie only voted up at a tiny percentage. Your vote is worth a penny on a new post at 1500sp, mine is worth between four and five cents on a new post at nearly 8500sp, which is consistent.

I asked for that some time back, because @fyrstikken was voting 1% and was in the list as if he had voted 100%, afaik, that has not changed, though around here it is unlikely that they would've made a press release about it.
