Remote learning losses are on the recovery.

Interesting charts with the latest NAEP scores. Not much relationship between the change in NAEP reading scores from 2019 to 2022 and level of in-person instruction. And for math a minor positive relationship with some outliers (California and Hawaii had less loss despite mostly remote learning).

Previous research indicated negative effects of remote learning on test scores, but looks like the effects may not be too persistent. There is also some other data suggesting we are already seeing a recovery in learning loss from the pandemic.
