Here's his bombshell revelation for the day:
"Elon Musk's absurd socialist pledge: On the menu today: Elon Musk pledges to the Chinese government that he and his companies will enhance “core socialist values,” and tells an artificial-intelligence conference in Shanghai, “I think China will have very strong AI capability — [that] is my prediction.”
Follows an article denouncing Musk, with the comments sections adding a variety of insults.
Why didn't Geraghty search "core socialist values" and find out what they are, before writing his article? How long would that take, thirty seconds?
Because if you do, you find that Musk sold his soul to the devil in a peculiar way -- by promising to promote harmony, democracy, prosperity, integrity, dedication, friendship, justice, rule of law . . .
Now does Xi Jinping himself live by those mottos? Of course not! But Elon Musk is doing nothing vile in pledging himself to promoting any of these values . . . In fact, I could claim the same, in teaching young Chinese, though I never made that promise. (Sometimes I asked them if they could recall all twelve values . . . mostly in one ear, and out the other.)
And what is wrong with encouraging the Chinese government to be wary of the dangers of AI? Personally, I was glad to hear that! Keep AI from going all Sky Net on us, by all means.
Which proves that conservatives can be just as thick-headed and reactionary as liberals. Thinking for oneself and thinking critically is, after all, the best policy.
