Buffalo sammich

in naturalfoods •  6 years ago

308 ar10, 556 ar15s and of course a 7.62x39 ak47 full auto. Besides the 45 acp pistols I rang the steel plates with at 500 yards.

We stopped shooting for a bit to hang out with the buffalo's! Very curious but not something you want to pet I'm sure

oh man, you're making me hyperventilate with that shooting talk! lol. 45 pistol hits at 500 yards? That's an incredible feat!
Does the tribe just raise the buffalo to increase the numbers of the buffalo?

Eh. Family always says that. And 3rd shot hit at 100 yards on a 8" square target with iron sights? Not hard. 500 yards? When I find the drop it's all day impacts.

My 308 ar10 can get hits out to 1500 yards consistent. I need a range that's not at family property that has the extra 260 yards to make a full mile. Yep I like extreme long range shooting. And show up some really good shooters shooting bigger calibers. Besides racking out some amazing groups.

And yes we raise buffalo to increase the endangered species numbers. Which honestly they are beyond endangered if the historical numbers are looked at.

haha! great job on the shooting sir ganjafarmer! That's super impressive.
I thought I remembered reading that there were lots of buffalo anymore which is great news.

Honestly... Grandpa shot better than I do. And showed me the extreme limits. As well as just being amazing. But long ago 2,000 yards man sized target hits were practical for the marine Corp and certain standards are totally possible.

Art of the precision rifle. Google Search that by Magpul

Love that video! 308 shooting to 1000 yards first day then walking out to hits at a mile.

You'd have to have a huge telescope to see if you hit anything! Until you went to the target, are you using scopes for that 1,000 yards? thanks for the video title.

Yep pretty much a telescopic touch. And add issues of travel. I've got a 20 moa offset Mount, plus a 5-25 power scope

very good sir ganjafarmer but you don't get to the range very often do you? That ain't cheap.

Not in a while. And yeah even reloading it's Spendy. Especially for long range. Spent $600 in load development for my rifle for XLR shooting before I dropped the project. The scope and Mount was more than that. But then there is the system and the build to exchange parts... Spendy but I was a gunsmith!
