Parrots are known for their bright colors, and some of the most colorful members of the parrot family are the lorikeets. The biggest and brightest of the lorikeets is the Rainbow Lorikeet.
Rainbow lorikeets (Trichoglossus moluccanus) are native to the rainforests and woodlands of Australia. They are exceptionally colourful, so much that it is hard to mistake them for any other species. Both sexes look alike with an orange-coloured beak, deep blue head and belly, green wings, back and tail and orange or yellow breast. They are often seen in pairs or as fast-moving flock in the wild.
