How can we describe a parrot, some people
know parrot description and some didn't..
parrot is of any colour of spectrum meaning that they occur in many colour such as red, yellow blue etc , but south american species is Olive green, All parrot have a common trait called zygodactylous feet i.e They have four toes on each foot, two facing forward and two facing backward, They have strong feet to cling tree branches for long period, this foots is also being use to pick up food and bring it to their mouth.
They have curved, broad beak, but the top beak often larger and stronger than lower one.
parrot has more than three hundred and fifty species so the weight and size will be vary, for pygmy parrot(the world smallest parrot) its size is 9 cm (3.6 in) and 100 cm (40 in) hyacinth macaws..

Both male and female parrot are alike, and it takes a keen eyes to tell a male from female. but there is exception for Eclectus roratus whose it's male are emerald green with coloured flame beak while female have black beaks and a bright scarlet head.
Parrot diet:
parrot are omnivore like human being, they can eat vegetation and meat, parrots eat fruits,buds, nectar, seed, pollen and insect.
Habitat:
they lives in tropical zones of the world.
Most parrot is also a social birds that live in group called flock, African grew parrot lives in group of 25-30 birds.
Of the roughly 350 known species of parrots,
most live in the tropical and subtropical regions of Australia, Asia, Central and South America and Africa. Keas live in alpine regions of New Zealand
Some parrots, like the kakapo, are nocturnal i e they only active at night and sleep in the whole day and search for food at night.
when parrot are in flock they do communicate with one another by squawking and moving their tail feathers.

A male parrot puts on courtship display by parading, making sound and dancing to attract female, once the female is attracted, they will begin to lives together for life, even put of a breeding season, parrots are also called lovebirds.
It lay 2-8 eggs that hatches to offspring after a maximum of thirty day incubation.
after hatching the chicks come out of the egg and start growing, though they were born with only down feather and they were born blind (they will remain blind for two weeks) and at the third week it eyes will open and it takes parrot a period of one to four year before it can fully matured and ready to live ..it depend on species though.
Parrot as pet?
yea it is very possible to domesticate parrot, as parrot is fourth favourite pet after dog, cat and fish, and this intelligent birds can be aggressive, chew excessively and it can also bite if it was devoid of attention, stimulation and high amount of enrichment...

Number one fun fact of parrot is its mimic sound i.e it has the ability to copy and repeat sounds either animal or man sounds, though not all parrot do talk, but africa grew parrot like parakeets, amazon parrot and macaws are best at mimic sounds.
parrot taste with the top of their beak: though parrot have taste gland at their throat but most of their taste buds are located at the roof of their beak.
