The mango materials company located in California, launched a project with which they intend to capture methane gas that is currently present in large concentrations in the atmosphere of our planet and is one of those responsible for the greenhouse effect.

The process involves trapping this methane before it is deposited in the atmosphere thereby reducing greenhouse effects, as well as creating a biodegradable fiber that will serve to create garments, the manufacturing scheme is as follows

To this scheme it can be added that methane is used to feed bacteria that naturally produce an element called Polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA), a type of biopoliester that can be used for sewing

So the impact of the adoption of this biodegradable fiber on a large scale would be very important since in addition to reducing the methane gas in the atmosphere, the garments created can be recycled to create new garments, which reduces the consumption of water and electricity. Used at the time of recycling and create new garments made with other materials made with petroleum derived materials.
