EcoSwell is a sustainable development, for-impact organization based in Lobitos, Peru. Since 2014, our team has been dedicated to ensuring people and nature can thrive in unison in the coastal environment of north Peru. We’re still learning the ins-and-outs of the SteemIt community, but we’re very excited to join in and start sharing our content! A golden sunset in Lobitos, Peru! This shot was taken by our medical intern Alejandro Espezúa January of 2018. The view is only a one minute walk from the EcoSwell House -- always a great way to end the day. Though the sunsets may change, they never cease to amaze.
The stumps jutting out of the water are remnants of a half-destroyed British pier that used to be here. Lobitos has an extremely unique history influenced by British culture, oil companies and more recently a surf tourism boom. Our efforts work to conserve the natural beauty of Lobitos, which is endangered by various threats.
Throughout the next few days, we’ll be posting a series of photos from Lobitos life. After we familiarize ourselves with the SteemIt community a little better, we’ll be releasing a proper ‘Introduce Yourself’ post. Stay tuned!
