I could only see one initially.
I'd read, and been told, that Camponotus species generally have only one Queen.
But there, hiding behind the batch of brood, doing her job, was Queen #2!
And the cockroach...
...Didn't last for long.
Overnight, it was pretty much dismantled by the abattoirs.
Jousting sticks? Sword fighting?
And the brood are moved above the water reservoir for meal time.
