I found this fungus on a walk and it was a new one to me. When I was looking for information on it, there isn't a whole lot out there. But what I found was it's a parasitic fungi that attack Aminita fungi. It's impact is unknown because there hasn't been a whole lot of people and resources put towards studying this parastitc fungi. I wouldn't suggest eating it unless you know for sure it's edible. If you have any info on it and would lkke to share, I would love to take a peak at it and share it with the community. I'll leave a link below if you want to learn more.

When looking for mushrooms you should be very careful. Just take the mushroom if you are 100% sure that it is edible.
Often there are similar looking poisonous mushrooms.

how interesting. Thank you very much for sharing this post.🌹

very unique mushrooms

@hansgans in this particular instance I picked the mushroom up so I could get a good look at it and snap a few pictures but it looked a little past it's prime anyhow. But I don't eat anything unless I know for sure what it is. Even then, what you would eat may not be what I would eat and vise versa. But for sure take the specimen with you just in case.

At first sight i thought it was kind of a young and weird "common stinkhorn" (Phallus impudicus) but i'm really not sure. Could be really something totally different.
Don't eat it anyway, not very poisonous but also not very tasty :p

Ya I didn't eat it. I put it back down where it grew out of the ground because the last thing I want to do is spread the spores if it had any. I just took a few pics and dropped it because at the time I was unsure of the species.
